There is something specific about the evening you finally hand a place over to the people it was built for. For me — after three decades in the operating room and a very long year of rehabilitation — this one felt earned.
We built CarpenDiem Wellness + Aesthetics because I believed there was room in Orange County for a clinic that took Western medical rigor seriously and, at the same time, made room for the restorative practices that helped me recover from a serious accident in 2023. On the evening of Wednesday, September 10, 2026, we opened the doors of our new location and shared that vision with about one hundred and forty guests: patients, colleagues from Hoag, friends, family and a handful of neighbors from around the plaza.
The evening, hour by hour
Guests began arriving just after 6 pm. The reception unfolded across three connected spaces: the front waiting lounge, the treatment corridor, and the newly finished Exomind and IV suite at the back of the clinic. We wanted people to move at their own pace — no formal seating, no long presentations, just a room they could walk through.
At 6:45 pm the whole team gathered in the center of the clinic for a brief welcome — five minutes, no more. Guests then broke into small groups for guided walk-throughs of the treatment rooms.
Exomind — the piece most people wanted to see
Exomind was the treatment guests kept circling back to. It is one of the newer protocols in our catalog and, for many of the physicians and referring providers in the room, the first time they were able to see the device outside of a conference. Two of our clinicians walked interested guests through what a session looks like, who is a candidate, and how it fits alongside our weight management and hormone optimization programs. The full protocol, in one walk
The rest of the tour covered the treatments patients ask about most often — aesthetics and injectables, weight management, hormone optimization, peptide therapy, NAD+ infusions, IV therapy and the sound therapy room. For anyone considering a first visit, the through-line matters more than any single treatment: we treat the patient, not the symptom, and the protocol is designed around your biology, your goals and your life.

Cocktail service for the evening was handled by La Barra Co., a premium mobile bar based in Southern California. Their bartender arrived early, set up quietly in the front lounge, and served two custom signature cocktails alongside a proper zero-proof menu that guests actually enjoyed. Professional, discreet, and easy to work with — the kind of vendor you want at a medical opening.
Coordinated by AMN Producciones
Photography and video coverage of the evening was coordinated by AMN Producciones, an integrated production team based in Los Angeles. They photographed the walk-through, the treatment room reveals, and the informal moments — the ones you actually want later. The gallery below is theirs.
Botanica Floral Studio
The arrangements throughout the clinic — the reception, the treatment corridor, the small piece on the reception desk — were done by Botanica Floral Studio in Costa Mesa. A restrained palette of eucalyptus, dahlias and a few local wildflowers. Nothing that competed with the space.
The Ranch Hospitality Group
Passed hors d'oeuvres and a light station in the corridor were provided by The Ranch Hospitality Group. Thoughtful portioning, dietary alternatives labeled, timing that matched the flow of the evening. Their staff was invisible in the good sense of the word.
Newport Sound Collective
Ambient music through the reception was curated by Newport Sound Collective. The sound therapy room, which several guests visited toward the end of the night, is a separate space entirely and uses its own installed system.
Alta Printworks (Irvine)
Every guest left with a small welcome kit — a printed treatment overview, a Q&A card, and a discount code for a first consultation. Print and finishing were done by Alta Printworks in Irvine, on their standard 100% recycled stock.
What guests told us afterward
What surprised me most, honestly, was how many people stayed past 9 pm. That was not the plan — we scheduled the evening to run from 6 to 9. Almost half of the room stayed to keep talking with the clinicians, and several patients scheduled first consultations before they left the building. That, more than any of the speeches, is what I will remember.

What comes next
The clinic is now open for regular appointments.
